Several Prep scholars recently had an opportunity to attend an Indy Eleven game at Carroll Stadium. They had a great time and met players who shared their journey to professional soccer. Thanks to the Indy Eleven organization for a great time!

Spotlight: Prep's PTO
The Tindley Prep PTO is nothing short of amazing. It, like the school it supports, is a second year organization. However, age does not completely explain what this group is doing in our school.
A short rundown of their great accomplishments include: Tindley Block Party and end of year bash, dinner at Parent University, hallway patrols at the end of the day, working our concession stand for basketball games, donating an air hockey table, donating a table tennis set, creating certificates and programs for assemblies, and spearheading the yearbook project.
They are the most dynamic parent group with which I have ever worked and I look forward to all of the things they will continue to do.

Semester House Winner: Harvard House
Congratulations to the young men of the Harvard House for being in the lead at the end if the semester in the House Challenge. They earned an end of semester fun day which included open gym, air hockey, arcade basketball, and tons of good fun.
Harvard took the lead by blasting the competition in a culture challenge and stock market challenge. The young men of Harvard were joined by the 6th grade who were celebrating their Acuity scores.
The 6th grade beat our sister school on average in reading and mathematics this for this assessment and are poised to make great strides in preparing for college.

Spotlight: Prep Basketball Champs
Prep's 8th grade A team just became the best in Indianapolis. They beat John Marshall 82-43. Congratulations to these young men for becoming 8th grade city champs and meeting high academic expectations to even step on the court.

Tindley Prep's First Year Grade
Tindley Prep has joined Tindley Accelerated in becoming an "A" school. As a first year school our students, teachers, and parents did amazing things by becoming the best school in the state if Indiana for young men. In our second year, we will continue on our journey of becoming the best school in general.
Congratulations to the entire Tindley Prep school community on becoming an "A" school!

Tiger Cafe Provides Service at Forest Manor
Forest Manor had produce donated from the Indianapolis Fruit Company. Community members came by to get free fruits and veggies, and the boys took orders, filled their bags, documented the demographics of the purchasers, weighed the bags, and gave them their produce.

Chess Club
Today was the first meeting of Chess Club. The founder of the club, J'Kai Lahmon, is looking forward to bringing a similar club to Accelerated next year.
The club's advisor, Mr. Bork, has encouraged Collegiate to start a team as well.
Tindley Prep Newspaper - 001
The Tindley Prep scholars have been working on a newspaper in the Acceleration Classes. The first issue was published September 13, 2013. We hope you have a ton of fun reading what the scholars put in the paper.
A special thanks goes to their adviser Dr. Anita Saunders.
